    It is VINTAGE  Marine  History --   also  quite  RARE.
    This uniform hat badge was made to for  the CAPTAIN   of  the ferry boats  sailing between
    Staten Island and Brooklyn . .
    . The ferries sailed almost 80 years between
    Brooklyn and Staten Island  New York City.
    The service ended in 1964 when the ferry boats  still carried 7,000 commuters a day plus cars.   Hat badge is very nice condition .
