Description
This ultra-compact lamp meter module operates under low voltage and currentreduced feed. Its performances make possible the realization of a lampmeter
autonomous portable, powered by cells or batteries, which will have nothing to envy to the models of
most sophisticated laboratory.
It is presented in a test situation with an ecc82 - 12au7 on the first photo.
Summary of features:
Module dimensions: 100 mm x 125 mm maximum height 25mm + LCD display
36 x 80 mm backlit.
Single power supply: 5 or 6 V alternating - ac (transformer), the rectification is
already on the card, or 5.5 v at 9 volts direct.
Consumption: 120 mA on average, 150 mA maximum (LCD lighting included).
High voltage regulated power converter, adjustable from 2 v to 450 volts minimum.
Grid polarization generator adjustable from 0 v to - 45 volts minimum (resolution 0.1 volts).
Plate current range: 0 to 300 mA in 2 automatic sub-ranges: 0 to 34.0 mA
(0.1mA resolution) then 34 to 300mA (1mA resolution)
Note: These values are real, the use of a microprocessor allows a measurement mode
ultra fast which minimizes feed energy.
Few traditional lamp meters are capable of such measurements because they require
heavy and bulky power supplies - the famous Metrix 310, for example, is limited to
100 mA of plate current.
The operation of the device is very simple: it suffices to adjust, by means of
2 potentiometers, the anode voltage and the gate bias voltage to the desired values
and, simultaneously, the corresponding plate current is displayed on the lcd screen.
The measurements are carried out at a rate of 2 per second which allows continuous reading
of the 3 parameters.
The test of tetrode or penthod tubes is carried out in pseudo-triode mode which allows to assess
at best the linearity of these tubes (screen or g2 connected to the plate), if the tetrode or penthode mode
true is desired, it will suffice to apply the voltage specified for the test to the / g2 screen continuously,
the bias voltage is controlled by the microprocessor and blocks the tube at the cut-off between
measurements and there is therefore no risk of grid current.
The heating of the tubes can be taken from the supply voltage of the module, a zone of the
printed circuit board is prepared for an LM317 and its peripheral components which will provide,
optionally, a regulated voltage at the filament. For pipes with direct heating a power supply
separate must be provided.
The measurement accuracy is 5% and the protections are integrated.
It is also possible to use the high voltage power supply of the module to test circuits.
or small receivers. (max flow of 28 mA under 80 volts, 12 mA under 250 volts)
The module will be delivered wired, adjusted, ready for use with its display connected by a flexible cable.
+ its user manual, principle and connection diagram and operating details.
The plate which supports the tube under test is not included in the auction but available on request.
with an octal bracket + a noval bracket installed.
Documentation available on request with valid e-mail address because the file is large
and cannot be sent by e-bay messaging.
