On June 27, 2021, the Atlanta Braves visited the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Kyle Muller started for the Braves, while Tyler Mahle went for the Reds.
In the top of the fourth, Austin Riley led off. MAHLE HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw a 91.8 mph four-seam fastball for a ball. (Yes, that means Tyler Stephenson also touched this ball!!) Mahle came back with an 87.9 mph slider, and RILEY LINED THIS BALL TO KYLE FARMER FOR THE FIRST OUT!!
Mahle got this ball back. Dansby Swanson walked to the plate. Mahle threw an 88.2 mph slider, and SWANSON TORCHED THIS BALL 105.8 MPH FOR A DOUBLE TO SCOTT HEINEMAN IN CF!! This ball was then retired. Abraham Almonte walked. Guillermo Heredia grounded into a double play. Kevan Smith ended the half inning by grounding out to Jonathan India. The Braves went on to win the game 4-0 behind hits by Ronald Acuna, Jr., Freddie Freeman, Ozzie Albies, Riley, and, of course, Swanson.
This ball is MLB Authenticated for all three pitches from Mahle to Riley and Swanson, including Riley’s line out to Farmer and Swanson’s double — his 15th double of the season. Please note that this ball does not come with a case. Thank you for purchasing!!
