On September 16, 2020, the Pittsburgh Pirates visited the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. JT Brubaker started for the Pirates, while Luis Castillo went for the Reds.
In the bottom of the sixth, Nicholas Castellanos led off. BRUBAKER HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw a four-seam fastball for a ball. (Yes, that means John Ryan Murphy also touched this ball!!) On the next pitch, Brubaker threw a sinker, and CASTELLANOS LACED THIS BALL TO COLE TUCKER IN CF AND LEGGED OUT A DOUBLE, his 10th double of 2020!! This ball was then retired. Joey Votto moved Castellanos to third when he ground out to Erik Gonzalez. But Castellanos never scored. Tyler Stephenson struck out, and Mike Moustakas ground out to Kevin Newman. The Reds went on to win 1-0 behind hits by Shogo Akiyama, Jose Garcia, Curt Casali, and, of course, Castellanos. Castillo gave up only three hits and struck out 10 in seven innings.
