In the bottom of the second, Eugenio Suarez led off by flying out to Lewis Brinson. Tucker Barnhart came to bat. With the count 0-1, THOMPSON HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw an 87.7 mph cutter for a ball. (Yes, that means Alex Jackson also touched this ball!) Thompson then threw an 87.6 mph cutter, and BARNHART POPPED UP THIS BALL TO BRIAN ANDERSON, WHO CAUGHT IT FOR THE SECOND OUT!! Thompson got this ball back. Miley stepped to the plate. Thompson threw a 92.9 mph four-seamer that Miley foul tipped. Thompson came back with a 77.6 mph curveball that Miley swung at and missed. This ball was then retired. Miley eventually flew out to Jorge Alfaro to end the inning. The Reds won the game 7-4 behind hits by Jonathan India, Tyler Naquin, Nicholas Castellanos, Kyle Farmer, and Tyler Stephenson.
