Description
Woodstock Era 7UP BUTTERFLY & BOTTLE 1969 2-sided PAT DYPOLD22" x 34". WILL BE SHIPPED FLAT, CAN'T ROLL IT UP.
This is an Authentic, Original, Psychedelic "7UP The Uncola BUTTERFLY & BOTTLE" Poster!
According to The Chicago Design Archive, THIS poster bears the lithographed image of the first, and perhaps the most notable, of 17 "UP" Graphics commissioned of the Artist, Pat Dypold, otherwise known as La Mariposa, by the advertising firm J. Walter Thompson of Chicago.
This was the beginning of "The Uncola" Campaign undertaken to rescue the 7Up Company from extinction.
The poster substrate is .05" grey board, too thick to roll up. The corners are dog eared from traveling in the carton. The receiving surfaces, which are White, MAY be yellowed a bit, but the colors remain vibrant. The finish is a medium sheen, like a semi-gloss paint. There is some rub off, especially on the solid green areas of the 7UP Bottle on the 7UP side. There is a 1/2" Deep x 1-1/2" Wide hanger clamp crimp just in from one of the bottom corners. The lower left bears the poster number "69-111(U)".
