MARK CANHA.
The authentication details show two pitches thrown by Ohtani -- the first pitch, an 82-MPH slider called for a ball, and the second, an 82-MPH slider fouled off by Canha.  Following the fouled pitch, the ball was removed from play and authenticated.
Sho-Time would complete the matchup versus the A's leadoff hitter, striking out Canha for Ohtani's career K #154.
The A's defeated the Angels 4-1, breaking onto the scoreboard only after Ohtani was removed from the pitcher's mound.  For the game, Ohtani pitched 6 scoreless innings striking out 8 batters.  He also, played RF and batted 1-for-4 with a double, his 88th hit of his incredible, MVP-caliber 2021 season.  Playing in just his second career game, Angels rookie
